Serve is run by STYKS Innovations d.o.o., trading as Styks Labs ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at info@stykslabs.com.
Serve helps players book tennis courts, book coaching lessons, join clubs and track matches. This notice explains what we hold, why we hold it, who else sees it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
When you create an account:
- Your name and email address.
- Your phone number, if you provide one.
- Your date of birth and gender, both optional.
- Your role: player, coach or club administrator.
- Your profile photo, if you add one.
- If you sign in with Google or Apple, the account identifier they give us. We never see your Google or Apple password.
As you use the app:
- Courts and lessons you book, and the clubs you belong to or ask to join, including any message you send with a request.
- Match results you log, your rating and your ladder standing.
- Coaching profile details, if you are a coach.
- Photos you upload for a club, a court or a news post, if you are a club administrator.
- Fault reports you send to a club.
Automatically:
- Your approximate location, only while you are actively searching for nearby clubs, courts or coaches. We ask your device for approximate accuracy, not precise. We do not track your location in the background, and we do not keep it after the search.
- A push notification token for your device, so we can send you booking reminders and club news.
- Technical logs, including your IP address, generated when your device contacts our servers.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
- To provide the service: your account, your bookings, your clubs, your matches. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To send you push notifications about your bookings, challenges and club requests. Legal basis: performance of our contract. You can turn them off in your device settings at any time.
- To find clubs and coaches near you. Legal basis: your consent, given through your device's location permission. You can refuse it, or withdraw it later, and still use the rest of the app. You simply search by name instead.
- To keep the service secure and to diagnose faults, using technical logs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a service that works and is not abused.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Who can see your information
Other people using Serve:
- A club you book with, and a coach you book a lesson with, can see that booking and the name and photo on your profile.
- Other players in a club ladder can see your display name, photo and rating.
- Club administrators can see the members of their own club.
Companies that handle data for us, or that your device contacts directly:
- Google (Firebase): sign-in, and delivery of push notifications.
- Apple: sign-in, if you use Sign in with Apple.
- Resend: sends our emails, and so handles your email address.
- Amazon Web Services: stores the photos you upload.
- OpenStreetMap: supplies the map tiles shown in the app. When a map is displayed your device contacts OpenStreetMap directly, so it receives your IP address and the area of the map you are looking at.
Some of these providers are outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that is so, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists.
- When you delete your account we erase your personal details (name, email, phone, date of birth, gender, photos and sign-in identity), and we delete your Firebase sign-in record and every push token registered to your devices.
- Bookings and match results stay, with your personal details removed. We cannot simply delete them: a match record belongs to your opponent as much as to you, and a club needs its own booking history. Once your account is deleted those records no longer identify you.
- Technical logs are kept only for as long as we need them to keep the service secure and to investigate faults.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct it if it is wrong. You can edit most of it yourself in the app.
- Erase it. You can delete your account in the app under Profile, or at serve.stykslabs.com/delete-account without signing in.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, our processing.
- Portability: ask for a copy of the data you gave us, in a machine-readable form.
- Withdraw your consent where we rely on it, such as location.
To exercise any of these, write to info@stykslabs.com.
If you think we have handled your data wrongly you can complain to the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka, AZOP), Selska cesta 136, 10000 Zagreb, azop.hr. You can also complain to the authority in your own country.
Children
Serve is not intended for anyone under 16. If you are under 16, please do not create an account. If we learn that we hold data about a child under 16 without the consent of a parent or guardian, we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app where the change matters.
